October Trips Part 1

October has been such a fun-filled month! With Rob's job finally slowing down enough for him to take some weekends off, we've taken full advantage of it. Towards the beginning of the month we took our long awaited trip to the Great Wolf Lodge. We had rescheduled this trip twice previously...so it was much anticipated. The kids had a great time! We left early one Saturday morning, and made a stop at Cabelas on the way down. I had no idea that would be an attraction in itself! The kids loved all the animals and ducking into all the tents that are set up all over, which apparently you're not supposed to enter. What's the point of that? Once Cabelas wore off, we headed on down to the Great Wolf! We took advantage of their early park check-in. In other words, you can't check into your room yet, but you can use the water park. When our room was ready, so were we! After the long drive down and then playing in the water, we were wiped! The kids were so excited to check out their "wolf den" bunk-beds. Rob and I were glad to be able to sit down and open a bottle of wine. The most priceless moment...Jovie fell asleep at the dinner table in the restaurant. She all but face-planted into her macaroni and cheese. Fortunately Rob intervened seconds before that would have happened. The second day we took full advantage of the park again, and then sadly had to turn around and come back home. What a short, but fun filled weekend!

They've been howlin' like a couple crazy wolves ever since this trip!

What a set-up! After a long day, they were so happy to have their own special space in our room! Every family hotel room needs a "wolf-den"! We put on Smurfs for the kids, and Rob and I got to watch The Hangover 2!

That place sounds like so much fun! The bunk beds look like something Lane would really dig too. Lane once fell asleep in a restaurant after a long day at Disneyland, didn't even touch the chicken strips he had ordered!
